In addition to the name of every head of household, the 1810 census provides the following information:

  • Number of free white males in various age groups (e.g. under 10, 10-15, etc.)
  • Number of free white females in various age groups
  • Number of other free persons except Indians not taxed
  • Number of slaves

I've listed three heads of household below, along with any other information contained in the record.

Benjamin Arnold:

We know, by marriage dates, that Thomas, Anna and Joanna would've already been out of the household.

  • Two males 16-25 (could be Presley, Willis or Lewis)
  • One male 45+ (Benjamin)
  • Two females 16-25 (Sally and Elizabeth)
  • One female 45+ (Sally)
  • Two slaves

Thomas Arnold:

  • Two males under 10 (Benjamin S., 4, and another son)
  • One male 26-45 (Thomas, 30)
  • One female under 10 (not sure of the name)
  • One female 26-45 (Peggy)

Richard Harrod:

Why is Richard Harrod's record included? Because a Richard Harrod married one of Benjamin's daughters (Thomas's sister) - Joanna. Because they were living near Benjamin and Thomas, this is probably the same Richard Harrod.

  • Two males under 10 (not sure of the names)
  • One male 16-25 (Richard)
  • Two females under 10 (not sure of the names)
  • One female 16-25 (Joanna)
